So what is bioavailability?
Bioavailability is how quickly and to what extent substances are absorbed in our digestive system and transferred into the blood. It is well known that our bodies are mainly made up of water, which is why it is particularly difficult for liposoluble substances to be absorbed in the intestines.
Turmeric is not always turmeric
There are a multitude of different turmeric preparations on the market. Perhaps the most well-known are micellar turmeric products and ones containing black pepper/piperine. Absolutely no piperine is added to Acurmin PLUS, as it can lead to issues in case of long-term use. The strong spice can irritate the digestive tract and and thus cause side effects – particularly in those with sensitive gastrointestinal mucosa and IBS.
How does a micelle work?
A natural solution for the optimal absorption of turmeric is the formation of micellar turmeric. Micelles are formed in our body to make liposoluble nutrients available to the body.
The liposoluble substances (lipophiles) are “surrounded” by a water-soluble (hydrophilic) surface. The formulation of Acurmin PLUS – Micellar Turmeric is an exact copy of this natural process: the turmeric is coated with a water-soluble film. Micellar turmeric can pass through the digestive tract and the turmeric is therefore absorbed into the body.
With Vitamin D3 – the sunshine vitamin
Acurmin PLUS – Micellar Turmeric combines turmeric with micellar vitamin D3, as studies have shown this to be an ideal pairing. Vitamin D contributes to normal bone and muscle function and is therefore important for our health.
Vitamin D3 is the active form of the vitamin D group. It should not be confused with the less effective, inferior vitamin D2, which is commonly misused as a cheap food additive. Our vitamin D3 is also formulated as a micelle to ensure optimal absorption.
